Hi all
i have a steel truss spanning between RC columns, the columns height is 8.00Ms without lateral supports(column is fixed down and truss resting on it at 8.00Ms height),
so it would be big problem for columns if the two connections are hinged, so i decided to model one of them as roller, is there any ideas on what detail should i use for this roller support, considering that this support must have resistance to truss uplift

Can you use a teflon bearing pad at one end? or an elastomeric pad? with long slotted bolt holes?

dik's advice is a good one. I used in the past Teflon pads and provided slotted holes for the bolts.
