I have saved page setup names in AutoCAD 2000 that I use to print specific sizes of drawings (A,B,C,D). All of the setups use "monochrome.ctb" for the plot style table, but when I pick the page setup that I want and do a full preview, the plot preview displays in color and the plot style table shows "none" instead of "monochrome.ctb" (all of the other settings are correct, however). I am forced to manually set the plot style to "monochrome.ctb" every time and then plot. If anyone knows how to remedy this, I would greatly appreciate the information. Thanks.

Try deleting all your "PRE-SET" page setup names.
It sounds like you SAVED your names first then tried to set all your settings afterwards.
.
You have to FIRST setup your settings THEN save them to a named "page setup".
.
Tried that, I'm sure it's just the sequence of events.

get out of mnochrome.cdt and select acad.ctd; then still in the plot device folder go to properties and go to the plot style table editor dialogue box. In that box you will see the 255 color bars. Make sure you select black in the right side properties box. Then grey out all the 255 colors by highlighting from the top down. Save & close at the bottom and when you do a full preview either on page setup or the plot dialogue box, you drawing s/b black & white.

Thanks for the info, rKeyTek and chicopee, but I'm sorry to say that neither works. Even when I create new setups, I add the new page setup to the page setup name list and then pick the name & everything looks fine (the plot style table name switches to my setup as do all the other setups - "center the plot", "extents", etc.)until I do a FULL PREVIEW. In the FULL PREVIEW, the drawing displays in color and when I right-click and hit "Exit", the plot style table name is changed to "NONE". Changing to all black in the plot style table editor will never work for any plot style table I set up if the problem is that AutoCAD, for some unknown reason, keeps changing my setting to NONE. Any new thoughts?

Thanks again.

Are you saving your files to AutoCAD r14 or 2000?
You should be saving the file to 2000.

Also in the plot dialogue box, at the top ...
Do you have the "Save Changes to Layout" checked ON? Should be ON.

I'm grasping at air this time ....
Hope that helps! [roll2]

Thanks, Rich! Check-marking the "Save changes to layout" box seems to have fixed the problem. I REALLY APPRECIATE the good information.

Thanks again. [2thumbsup]

Glad to hear it!

It figures it had to be something that simple.
