Trying to find Thermo book for PE exam...Please Help! 1

I have tried everything to find one of the thermo books listed as a suggested reference for the PE exam on the TMS website. The book is out of print and I cannot seem to find it anywhere. I've already tried to order it from the internet and I've called TMS and my old college professors and no one has the book. If anyone has the book "Thermodynamic Loop Applications in Materials Systems" by D.L Johnson and G.B. Stracher, I am desperate to borrow it. I will provide some type of deposit or whatever is necessary and you can be assured that I will take very good care of the book and will return it immediately after the exam. Please Help! I only have 3 weeks until the exam and have been told there is a lot of thermo on it, which I haven't used since college.

I don't think it is necessary to obtain that exact book. I think any Thermodynamics book will suffice - Gaskell's has been standard for some time. You can purchase a new or used copy of a new or old edition at Amazon:

I wouldn't worry too much about not using thermodynamics in your job. Thermodynamics questions are only a portion of the 14 "Science" questions, which is a small portion of the 80 total questions on the test. The passing score is a "scaled" 70, so you can afford to be a non-expert in some areas.

What state are you taking the MET exam in? I'm taking it in Houston, Texas. I don't have that book either, and I'm not going to try and obtain it. I've been over the TMS practice questions over and over again and have an understanding of all of them. I'm hoping that having the other references, and Metals Handbook, Desk Edition, that I will be prepared for any question that comes up. I've noticed that there are only 3 other people in Texas signed up to take the MET exam. I'm surprised that there are not more aspiring PE's out there that choose this exam.....kinda makes me wonder what I've gotten myself into. I'd be happy to share more comments, observations, etc. about our upcoming undertaking. Wouldn't mind hearing from others who have knowledge of this exam as well. Good luck!!!
