Tsai Wu Failure criterion Abaqus

Hi,

I am performing a failure analysis of [0/+45/-45/90] laminate and I want to use the Tsai-wu failure criteria. In Abaqus I have specified the fail stress values of the material(s) and I want to post process the results.

What should I do for post processing?

Hi Odforu,

You want to specify the field output variable TSAIW to be available for post-processing. You also want to make sure to specify output data to be saved at multiple section points as by default only the top and bottom section points of a layup are saved.

As an aside, I have had more success correlating to experimental failure using the Hashin and MCT failure criteria.
