Hello all,

I am currently searching for a T-T-T diagram for the nickel-based alloy Waspaloy. Does anyone out there have any leads on where I can look or who I can contact? Google searches have resulted in nothing so far.

Thanks!

Find the ASM Atlas of TTT Diagrams and look at page 175.

Thank you metengr. Unfortunately the diagram that I find on page 175 is not a TTT diagram. It shows phase concentration vs. temp for the various carbides formed. This is from the 1991 version on the 'net.

That is what you get for age hardening alloys.
They don't have TTT to speak of.
The only other concern is annealing at the correct temp.
The aging info tells you how fast you need to cool.

With these alloys the TTT diagram will not show phase transformations as such (there often aren't any like you have with steels), but the time-temperature relationships for various precipitates. Since many precipitates are deleterious to one or more properties, it is important to understand how they can evolve during processing and later in service.
The text by Dupont, Lippold & Kiser has some discussion on precipitation and strain aging cracking in Waspaloy (but no TTT diagram).

Just FYI:
Ni-based 718 does exist a TTT diagram (up to 6-7 phases including carbides).
