Hi folks

Just a quick question please. I have a tubesheet which is ASTM A350 LF2 Class 2 forging. Tubes are A334 Grade 6 material, 2.11 mm wall thickness. Design temperature is minus 46 degrees centigrade.

Could anyone please point me to specific PWHT or local heat treatment requirements for PD5500 design Code?

Many thanks

Chris

Are these strength welds or seal welds?
But either way I don't believe that PWHT is required

hi there,

I think you should go for a mock up test before proceeding for any kind of heat treatment. As discussed in above threads, chances are that you may not need a heat treatment and with the mock up test you can also establish a procedure for future requirements.
