tubing ridges

I'm trying to represent flexible tubing on a drawing and would like to show the ridges using lines perpendicular to the spline. How can I do this without drawing each individual line?

Try using the MEASURE or DIVIDE commands. Each one places a block along a line, spline, or pline at certain intervals. MEASURE places the block at a given distance along the line, DIVIDE breaks up the line into the given number of segments. You can choose to align the block with the object, which should give you the perpendicular lines you're looking for.

Another idea: You may be able to change the linetype to one with crosses or slashes. A custom linetype may be needed though...

Try offsetting the line and then change its linetype to a linetype like zigzag (you may need to load it) and see if that gets you close to what you want. Otherwise, you may need to create a new linetype like IFR said.
