Tug accident

I haven't heard about this incident. The writing of the article is very strange and doesn't explain the situation well. This article does a little better but both have similar references so there must be a parent pre-AI article somewhere.


I don't operate any conventional type tugs so I can't offer much insight on ship assist with conventional boats. We have had a ship come head while we had a tow wire up which I think is a similar configuration. It did end up dragging the boat sideways through the water and did substantial damage to the winch. I don't recall how the situation was escaped. I believe we were able power into the direction of travel which restored control. That can't be done with a conventional vessel.
