Tungsten, Molybdenum, & Niobium

Can an one help me determine a possible material for this application. I acts as a brake type pad and is made up of the following material.
Molybdenum : 43%
Niobium: 18%
Tungsten: 30%
Iron: REM
why would you use Niobium?

I think Niobium (Columbium) may add some oxidation resistance to that mixture.

I would analyze for carbon and nitrogen as well. It looks like you're dealing with a cermet material, with everything in the form of carbides or carbonitrides, perhaps the iron is a binder.
