Hello,

I searched the web and could not find a good review article. I use Autocad 2000 at work for mostly 2d concept layouts and detailing, and I am also trying to learn to do solid modeling with MDT5. I would like to pick up something affordable to use at home and it looks like Turbocad 9 might be good.

Does anyone have any experience with Turbocad 8 or 9?

Thanks,
John Woodward

I haven't used turbocad since the days of DOS. At the time it was great to play around with at home but from a professional stand point I found it to be weak. I understand it has gotten considerably better since then. You can check out this review page.

Cadence magazine had a favorable review on Turbocad Pro a few issues back, with the reviewer stating that it was faster than Autocad for 3D work.

You can have TurboCAD LE for free is you want to get an idea. I saw this post previously...
