Hi People,

I have a part in Teamcenter (NX10) That has components added to make it an assembly, but somehow the part has been set to Enforce Piece Part, now when we try to open it, it says Unable To Add Parts so it won't open. Is there any way of turning off Enforce Piece Part without having the part open? A utility for example?

Thanks in advance.

Si

Best regards

can you load it "Structure Only" ?
Another option is to set the load Options to "as saved" ( in NX) and maybe set the preferences - Teamcenter Integration - Assembly ( tab) Structure update on load to "none".

?

Hmm weird problem, have you tried removing the components in the piece part with rich client structure manager?

There is a UF wrapper in nxopen for reading and setting the enforce piece part status, but I suspect that approach would not work as it would be necessary to load the part which is what fails.

Thus your best bet probably is to export the ugmaster dataset and send it to GTAC for analysis and possible fixing.

Hi Mike,

No, that doesn't work either, Richard had to write a utility to fix it.

I just had exactly the same issue. I fixed it by downloading the .prt from the Named References of the dataset, which I edited in native NX. Then I imported the modified file back into the Named References.

did you try my second proposal
"set the load Options to "as saved" ( in NX) and set the preferences - Teamcenter Integration - Assembly ( tab) Structure update on load to "none"."

?

Hi Tomas

I didn't try that. The assembly has since been modified so I can't go back and check. I did try reproducing the problem on a copy of the assembly but was unable to get it working. I will have to try it if the error occurs again as the method I used may not work every time.
