Hey all,
I'm currently attempting to create a simple 3D turning simulation in Abaqus Explicit. My problem is with regards to actually making the workpiece (a wheel) rotate. I'm attempting to accomplish this by defining a reference point in the center of the wheel (it looks like a doughnut so this is free in the air). I am the making a kinematic coupling constraint with the reference point and the nodes of the wheel. Finally, I applied a rotational boundary condition to said reference point that rotates it as I want with a specified ramp amplitude. The result is the workpiece registers a stress pattern that appears to be rotating like I want, but the mesh/part itself simply wiggles or does nothing at all. I've already attempted to modify the kinematic coupling to link to various surfaces on the wheel rather than the nodes and it worked even less. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
