Hi all,
In Abaqus membrane element, there are two Poisson ratios can be set. One is the Poisson ratio of the material of the membrane and the other one is called "effective section poisson ratio", which can be set to 0 in order to fix the thickness of the membrane. Does anyone know what is the constitutive equation used here? Is the membrane modeled as transversely isotropic material? I checked the theory manual, but it is not informative.
Thank you very much!
Jay
