I have a two speed motor for a hoist. It have 6 cables, m1, m2, m3, m4, m5 and m6. In the electrical diagram m1 and m4 always are contected. I suposs that the motor have a two winding, one for each speed. If I want to conect only the low speed, how can I contected? (m4 m5, and m6 are for the low speed).

What happend if I don't contec the m1 cable?

We have seen the dual speed motors of two types-

i)Single winding type (Mesh/star in two parallels)for constant torque connection - Number of terminals : 6
ii) Two seperate winding giving two different speeds for variable torque connection - Number of terminals : 6
Before finalising the connections, check the configuration of the motor winding and visit the following site for exact connections.
site : and give a search with two speed.Open the site titled "Connection diagrams".
