Hi
This functionality is in Solid Works. I want to know how to do it (or similar) in NX.

I have an assembly in goods is 5 Parts.
In the 1st version of this assembly (configuration) all these parts (or solids) are the standard color.
In the 2nd version of this Assembly the first two parts are red and the rest of the standard color.

Currently I am doing this in the following way:
In assembly version 2: I change two parts to others which (copies) are red color. --This is not a solution because it requires two copies of the first two Parts.....

I hope that I clearly explained this functionality

Can anybody be able to give advice on how to do it?

Why not just edit the color of the Component file in the Assembly? The colors of Components are unique to each Assembly. If you edit the color of a Component in one Assembly it will have NO impact whatsoever on the color of either the original Part file or any other Assembly where that same Part is used as a Component.

It's finding someone you can't live without

Yes that is right.
This is second way to do it but in my case not practical because I have 11 variants of colours
It is better to have one assembly and 11….., what ? Arrangement don't remember colour….
Maybe there is something that will to remember several colour variants in one assembly?
I do not know, that's why I'm asking. [smarty]

Can you begin by explaining why you are trying to do this ?

Is "Version" the same as "revision" ?
i.e /00 and /01 ?

Is the red color for comparison purposes or ?

As John says, you can assign any color to an Assembly instance,
i.e all wheels in the car assembly can have different colors, despite the same part file.

Tomas

Hi Tomas
Yes it is simple.
I have the documentation of an internal combustion engine and I need to convert it to the NX program. The assembly of the engine assy includes ~ 25 elements. It is necessary to make 11 views (each of them in different configuration= in NX arrangement. In each of the views: different element is marked in red. The 3D view will be with PMI note describing the working conditions of the red part.
I need to have posibilities to switching between variants (arrangement with different colors)
I hope that I explainded clear this goal.
:)
