All Enclosure manufactures sell Type 4 & 12 Freestanding enclosures. But they have no means of securing the enclosure to the floor. No instructions. No kit.

UL50 says "Floor supported enclosures are not required to be provided with a mounting means."

I called Hoffman. They had no instruction or advise to give on installation. They just stated that they buid to UL.

Thanks for you help!

What kind of floor? If concrete, we generally drill out the concrete and epoxy grout some anchor bolts in. If you want to get fancy, you can embed channel into the floor slab to get a level surface and bolt the panel to the channel. But that's a bit of a pain.

If you start making holes in a NEMA 4 panel, you'll need to seal them up somehow to maintain a waterproof panel.

If you worried about seismic events, you'll need to enlist a structural engineer.

A lot of these panels are not bolted down at all - but the conduits help keep them from walking away too far.

I work for a manufacturer of industrial equipment. On a recent machine with an 84x78x18 NEMA 4 enclosure, we unscrewed the lifting eyes and used the tapped holes to mount brackets that we welded to the machine frame. That way we were sure it would never tip over. All without punching holes or welding to it.
Our UL508 inspector had issues with us running ANYTHING through the enclosure which itself did not have a NEMA 4 rating. Made us switch to meyers hubs even for NEMA 12 boxes.
