Is it possible on a U-1A form to group nozzles of similar size together? The purpose of these nozzles may be different but material, size and attachment method are all the same.

thanks,
animal

Mechanimal,

The answer to your question is NO. The instructions in Appendix W says that you need to list ALL openings. If you need more space, list them on Form U-4.

Gentlemen,
With all due respect, I would answer differently. My practice is to combine nozzles of same size, materials and type. The form has a heading for No. and I use that to indicate a qty of same nozzles. Note, I am saying same nozzles, not similar. Neither my AI, nor NB has ever expressed a concern with this practice.

Thanks for the responses.

I would think wektek is correct. If I have 20 1" nozzles all shell penetrations, all same material and weld details why can't I just have one line with No. = 20?

If you can't do this what is the point of No.?
