Hi, I have a problem with item in object. I can't understand the reason for which, for any kind of structures, analized with modal analysis (and for this reason with a higher grade of accuracy than static analysis), UBC1997 foresees the scaling of forces to transform modal results into "static" results. So, modal analysis becomes completely useless. It is strange also that chapter in object talks about "reduction" of elastic parameters, while, if compared, static analysis gives always higher forces than spectral analysis. Excuse me if I was not so clear for the matter, but I hope someone could clear my doubt.
Thankyou very much.
Daniele

An equivalent static analysis is often used to simplify the analysis techniques. trying to do a model or dynamic analysis by hand is very complex.

All I know is P/A and Mc/I
