UCS in multiple viewports

Any idea how to return to the r-14 like condition of the same UCS in all viewports while in model space? I'm 3D-ing an assembly, and I need to go get parts in other viewports, and I need those UCS's to be the same as the UCS in the main viewport, and if I change it in the main viewport, I need all viewports to go to the same UCS.
1. No, UCSFOLLOW is something else.
2. UCSVIEW & UCSORTHO & UCSVP seem to have no desired effect.
Is there something in "Preferencec" I'm missing? Is there a variable I'm missing? Remember the old edit variables command in r-14? Anything like that in 2002? If so, I'm missing it in my search.

The command is UCSVP. Set it to 0 in each viewport that you wish to reflect the model UCS. Set it to 1 to lock the UCS in that viewport to the current UCS.

From ACAD Help:
UCSVP
Type: Integer
Saved in: Drawing (viewport specific)
Initial value: 1
Determines whether the UCS in viewports remains fixed or changes to reflect the UCS of the current viewport.

0 Unlocked; UCS reflects the UCS of the current viewport
1 Locked; UCS stored in viewport, and is independent of the UCS of the current viewport

rkeytek & CADsaver: Thanks! That's just what I was looking for.

Also- remember in r-14 we could actually list the variables, get a brief description and change them within one command? I think it was a part of the bonus menu features. Anything like that still available in ACAD now? Am I just missing it or did they "improve" that too?

You can modify the variables with the express tool's system variables editor. Sysvdlg at the command line.

Since I use 2000, I would go to the "tool" pull down menu and "new UCS", a box with over a half a dozen of UCS command will appear and I would select "world"; this will return the UCS to its default position for the active viewport. If there are several viewports,I would make each active and repeat the "world" command. Then you know that all UCS are at a known position.

You guys are great! Leveraging your expertise has helped me immensely on my new job. Stuff like this gets set a little over time so that we lose visibility (and memory) of how we set things up for daily use. I'm on a brand new job now, and some of these things have never been done here, and it puts me in a position of having to dig this stuff out. Transitioning from 2000i to 2000, and remembering some of the setups I had migrated from 14 to 2000i...whew!

Chicopee: That's pretty near what I was doing. Check out the utility of ucsvp. It's not exactly what we (I) used to do, but its a reasonable workaround. I guess the ability to have multiple UCS's now, makes this a decent tradeoff.
