UG-44(b) RESOLVE MOMENT VALUE CALCULATION BASIS REQUIRED 1

Hi Folks!

I'm calculating the UG-44(b) flange external load calculation manually. So pls refer to attached link and red color mark.

I just need to know that how "Me" resolve moment value is PV elite calculating. Since the Nozzle load for the available nozzle sizes are below:

Fx = 1 KN
Fy = 1 KN
Fz = 1 KN
Mx = 0.380 KN-m
My = 0.380 KN-m
Mz = 0.380 KN-m

6"

Fx = 3.8 KN
Fy = 3.8 KN
Fz = 3.8 KN
Mx = 3.7 KN-m
My = 3.7 KN-m
Mz = 3.7 KN-m

The resolved moment is the resultant flector moment: 0.38k N.m = 0.38*1000*1000 N.mm*sqrt(2) = 537401 N.mm.
 
When you purchase a program such as PV Elite, isn't a operator's manual explaining the program provided by the seller?

But what is the formula and any book reference from which they are considering.. ?

As per my understanding the formula of resultant forces and moment is something different.

But as you quoted "0.38k N.m = 0.38*1000*1000 N.mm*sqrt(2) = 537401 N.mm " is quite accurate but i'm unable to understand the formula basis and reference.

Could you please refer the formula basis / reference of this resultant moment calculation..

Unfortunately, this information is not available in operating manual or any help forum nor on some other areas..

If you know any reference, please share with me.. i shall be go through it to understand the basis.
 
The resultant flector moment is sqrt[(My^2)+(Mz^2)], when My=Mz, the formula just becomes M*sqrt(2) - everything else is unit conversion factors. On the other hand, no resultant force calculation is needed for "F", because the 2019 Edition UG-44(b) method only considers the external axial force.
