I am using Pro-E and I need to work with files created in Unigraphics. I am wondering what the best file format to receive the unigraphics files in is so that I can work effectively with them in Pro-E.

What are you doing with the files in Pro/E? Drawings do not transfer across with associativity. Models and assemblies canbe transferred.

STEP seems to work a little better than Parasoid export files. IGES will also work, but not as well.

There is a Pro/E module that you can buy that will allow Pro/E to open a UG .prt file. It is 1) expensive and 2) requires NX on the same workstation as Wildfire.

I believe I will be receiving UG files (not sure if they are going to be parts, assemblies or drawings) and creating drawing models from them.

How easy is thsi to do and what format should I receive these in?

Request the sender to export the files in STEP format for you. STEP 203 or 214 doesn't matter as they define diffrent file header properties, but the solid models are identical.
