All,
I have assembly files in UGNX tied to assemly drawings with overall dimensions for Top/Side and front views.
Its been taking tremendous amount of time for making drawings since there are so many possible variations that can happen. I would like to know how can we apply part families concept for assemblies with in UG such that there is an option to pick the required parts and it gives out an automated drawing.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks

If you are going to be doing this over and over again, such as a customizable catalog product. Knowledge Fusion is one option. If you have this license you can create your max case assembly, then adopt the underlying KF code from the assembly. Edit the code to account for all your options. You can take it one step further and create a GUI for the front end to drive the variational inputs using the User Interface Styler application. It takes some and learning but it is very, very powerful. For the drawings create a template or seed part that has the views you want and use that to semi automate the drawing creation process after you instantiate your assembly with KF.
