I need your assistance in compiling all the UG performance tweaks. In my environment we are running NX4 32 bit workstations using DC Xeon & QC Xeon Processors with 4 GB of RAM. We can load assemblies that can take 10-15 mins depending on the speed of the computers with newer computers performing much better. Is there any software tweaks out there that can cut down on loading time.

I have also enable the multiple processor support but users are complaining that details disappear from the assembly as they work with it.

I also had to enable /3GB switch to allow the UG process to use over the 2GB limit.

Thanks for the Help!

Support for SMP (Statistical Multi-Processors) should have no impact on whether small components are displayed in an assembly or not. That sounds like you need to check the settings under Preferences -> Performance Preferences...

Make sure you have the latest Graphics Driver installed. Loading is heavily influenced from the load options (obviously). Change reference sets to light model, partially load (not fully loaded). If native set your load options to one folder where your files are, Teamcenter open with revision rules the assembly was saved.

Any computer is only as fast as its slowest component so if your graphics let you down you'll suffer. Run the visualization performance evaluation on different machine compare the results and take appropriate actions.

Use Partial loading and faceted representations for large assemblies. We always set up the load options to cater for the this by setting the default reference set to the faceted one, and loading no components initially, because sometimes you just don't need to load a whole car engine oil filter and all in order to check out the tail lamp seal.

These simple tips may be what you need to implement to speed things along.

Cheers
