If you have the Multi-CAD Plugin for Catia (MUP license option) you can just retrieve it directly into Catia by selecting the UG file.

It just comes in as a dumb solid, no feature information is included and all dimensions/annotations are stripped out.

You can also export the UG file as a STEP file and import that into CATIA.

Sorry, my bad. Was not complete in my directions.

First you have to create an empty CATProduct then insert the existing UG file into the CATProduct. Upon retrieval it will convert to STEP and then to CAT format behind the scenes. You can then use Save Management to save CATPart/CATProduct format to local disk.

All the advice that you have been given so far, ASSUMES that you have "other" things. In the real world, most people do not have MultiCAx plugins, or even the STEP Core interface module. Both are very expensive, and very hard to justify from a business standpoint.

If you are dealing with a small number of parts, the easy way to translate, is to hire someone to do it. Not what you want to hear, but that's the simple answer. If you got lots of parts and/or lots of money, buy the add-ons. They're invaluable if you've got a real need for them.

Hope that helps.
