Hi Everyone,
I've been trying to write a simple sub routine which emulates the failure of a hyper elastic material under tension.
I was initially using UMAT but then read from the ABAQUS documentation that the use of UHYPER would be easier to implement a neo-hookean model (this is the model I'm currently using).
From the documentation provided on the sub routines I've been able to define the derivatives which they ask for, however I do not know(or see) of anyway to actually implement failure.
I've been suggested to somehow remove elements or set "failed" elements stresses to zero when It has reached a predetermined failure variable.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
