I have encountered a steel or iron shape in a home built in the early 1960's. The beam is 43' long with a single weld joint at about 40'. The beam is 6 1/4" deep with 2 13/16" wide flanges that are approximately 1/4" thick. On the side of the web is stamped "ROD. PN - 16". I can't find this shape in any database. The weld joint makes me think that it's steel and not iron, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have an educated guess as to what this is/

That's it. I believe that it is a European Standard Beam (IPN). 160mm deep. Thanks.
