I have a roof with multiple gables framing into each other. The roof slope is steep at 12:12. Per ASCE 7-10, 7.6.1 it would appear that I do not have to apply an unbalanced snow load because the slope is greater than 7:12. However, it seems to me that I will get some drifting in all these folds. In fact, it seems to me that this situation might be more like a multiple folded plate roof-type situation ASCE 7-10, 7.6.3. For the rafter design(s) should I utilize the folded plate unbalanced load prescription? Or no unbalanced load as per 7.6.1?

Looking at that roof plan, I don't think I'd typically consider build-up except for maybe on that little link between the garage and main house, if it is significantly lower than the adjacent roofs. Does snow pile up in those valleys? Sure, I've had that experience on my own roof. But does it exceed the design roof snow load once you account for where the snow pile came from and the fact that the snow doesn't really exist on the peaks anymore? Unlikely.

Hi,
I hope that all are doing well,
I have one query regarding the raft foundation, I have received one message as this column is not in the same plane as region of mat and unable to creat boundary in the staad foundation, here i am attaching the pic of it so kindly suggest how to resolve the said issue in staad foundation.
