Hello all,
I need a guidance.

I am working on a design for an ethanol 99.9% double skin tank to be located underground.
The tank should be made of stainless steel 304.
The tank shall be designed and constructed and tested according to some European code.
I usually design underground tanks according to EN-12285-1 but that code is for steel tanks and not stainless.

Can anyone please advise on what code i should be working with?

Errr EN 12285-1.

Did you read it?

It's quite clear that the design includes stainless steels (section 6.2) including material code 1.4306 in appendix B to EN 10088-1, which appears to be the same as 304L.

Dear Jay_ (Mechanical)

I have German version of the standart DIN EN-12285-1.

Annex B shows the applicable materials. I have copied and pasted below. AISI 304 L corresponding to Material 1.4306

Moreover, for ethanol, as per Line item 506 (page 67) Carbon Steel is permitted.

Hello,
thank you for your inputs,
I'm unfamiliar with the EN grade of stainless steel.
Thank you so much.
