Hello all,

I have a problem where I apply time depenent loading and angular displacement to my model. I have run static analysis and dynamic implicit analysis but my results seem to be very similar, is this expected? Does anyone have any input on static vs dynamic analysis using FE?

Thanks

It depends on the type of load that is being applied. If the frequency of the load is small compared to the natural frequency of your structure, then it is expected that the response would be similar to the static solution. This doesn't have anything to do with FE, it is just how structures behave. (Consider the transmissibility curve of a single-degree-of-freedom resonator.)

If I have more than one structure in contact, should I calculate the natural frequency of the individual parts and compare each on with the frequency of the load?

Is there any good literature/books on this?

Thanks
