The tests were carried out but its just regard to the undrained triaxial test the embankment is 5meters in height and runs accross a flood plane then links the roadway up to a bridge which is crossing a river.
I have carried out the test and my strenghth parameters from the mohr circle diagram failure occured at 180. What I need to understand is if the soil is of good bearing capacity, also how my test results compare with other triaxial undrained test is the test of idealised behaviour. Is my failure envelope of rational behaviour. Also how does the test results i have got from this test apply to the design.

We need a lot more information in order to help you. Please provide a detailed description of the lab test results, your design problem, and your proposed methods of analyses.

So far, I'm not even sure what help you need. Please expand and clarify.

Please see FAQ731-376 for great suggestions on how to make the best use of Eng-Tips Fora. See faq158-922 for recommendations regarding the question, "How Do You Evaluate Fill Settlement Beneath Structures?"

Why don't you look up the sections in Lambe and Whitman's book and see how you analyze the triaxial test. Did you do pore water pressure determinations? Stress path methods - Then, as Focht3 says, put together your question in a rational way and perhaps we can be of some help.
