Unemployed process engineer here since last summer. Wondering where are the jobs in the UK for process engineers. I have experience in the nuclear industry but even that has gone quiet.

Huntsman are advertising a couple of posts over in Teesside, no affiliation but noticed it on LinkedIn a night or two ago.

If I were you I'd focus on the companies with operational sites rather than consulting firms in the present employment market, so you really need to be looking at the big process industry clusters: I guess you've already looked Sellafield if you have nuclear experience, but what about Grangemouth, Runcorn, Teesside, and Humber? Figure out which of those areas you could live in too, they are all very different: Humber (flat and boring), Grangemouth (men in skirts), Egremont (a very small gene pool), Runcorn (gateway to Hades)... compared to that lot Smogland isn't too bad once you get away from Middlesbrough. :)

Have you tried BAE in Cumbria, they are building some nuclear hardware at the moment and can't get enough people.
