unhandled float fatal error 1

My question is this - I have a file that when I try to plot to our HP 450c inkjet plotter, it goes without a problem.....however, when I try to send the exact same file to our Xerox 8830 engineering plotter, it comes up on the screen

"FATAL ERROR: Unhadled Float Invalid Operations Exception At 401356h"

I tried reloading the driver for the xerox, but with no results....

I am running windows 98 and I will get the error in either ACAD R14 or 2000.

Any suggestions are gratefully accepted.

Did you try other files?
Do other files give you the same "Error" message?
If so, then you right to "re-install" the driver.

But IF NO! ;(
Then there's something wrong with the file.
In other words, your Xerox Driver is trying to convert your AutoCAD information into image ... so it can produce a plot.
But one OR MANY of the AutoCAD elements in your file is/ are "FUNKY" ... therefore the error message.

SO!
If the driver works fine for other files ...

Then open the file (in question) and ...
type AUDIT
hit the enter key
type Y (for yes to fix all errors)
save it!
and plot!

If this works ...
Then you have an element in there that needs to be deleted and re-drafted.

A 50/50 fix ... from re-drawing ... is
Do a "purge" 3 times or so!
Do a normal save, when it's done.
Then do a saveas to R12.
And exit.
DON'T SAVE it, if asked to save! Just exit out.

Re-open the file and hopefully the conversion to R12 did it!
Otherwise you need to fine that bad element otherwise the "Error Message" will pop up again! ;(
