I have an application which requires a high number of an independent component to be distributed uniformly along a 3D surface of another part.
The 3D surface transitions from flat to curved.
I have applied iso-parametric curves to this surface in the form of face curves.
I then applied a series of points to each face curve.
These points are the location for all of the components.
The issue is figuring out how to position each of the multiple components such that they are normal to the 3D surface at every location point applied along each of the face curves.
In addition, the method of using pattern along a curve has proven
to present a challenge in getting the resulting pattern to follow the face curve with any accuracy.
Am I using a correct approach?
Is there a more efficient method for applying a uniform distribution of points onto a 3D surface?
Thanks in advance.
