Unit Cash Cost (UCC) for Cogeneration Plant

Hi,

I was requested to calculate the UCC for our newly installed Cogen Plant (4 GTGs + 1 STG) and to compare with the charges by the utility power company. Below is the sample of calculation.

Post Cogen : RM 68.2/MW-hr or USD 20.1/MW-hr
Utility Company : RM 220.5/MW-hr or USD 64.9/MW-hr

Appreciate if anyone could provide some comments on the accuracy of the calculation.


UNIT CASH COST (UCC) : POST COGEN OPERATION
1.Electricity : 68.5MW
600,060 MW-hr/Year
2.HP Steam (from HRSG only):247.6 ton/hr
2.17 Million ton/Year
1,941,581 MW-hr/Year

3. Combined MW-hr/Year : 2,541,641 MW-hr/Year

4. Total OPEX : 114.8 RM Million/Year (OPEX to generate 68.5 MW and 247.6 ton/hr of HP Steam)
5. CAPEX Recovery : 58.7 RM Million/Year (based on Total CAPEX = RM 578 million, 20 years period, 8% interest)
6. Total Cost :173.5 RM Million/Year

7. Combined Power UCC : 68.2 RM/MW-hr (average power utility company charge is RM 220.50/MW-hr)

8. Exchange rate : RM 3.4 = USD 1.0
