Anyone have an idea where I can get the elevated temperature tensile properties for UNS G43400, ASTM A434 class BD alloy steel? A "typical" curve or table might be ok if I can't come up with anything else. ASME offers properties for bolting only (SA-540).

Try the ASM High Temperature Property Data: Ferrous Alloys
ISBN 0-87170-243-6
It has a few pages of data on this grade.

Thanks guys. What I need are ultimate tensile and yield strengths at elevated temperatures. I'm still trying to track down the ASM reference mentioned above.

MIL-HDBK-5J and its replacement MMPDS-01 have a graph that shows how yield and tensile strength decreases vs. temperature. It is Figure 2.3.1.1.1.[/I] Effect of temperature on the tensile ultimate strength (Ftu) and tensile yield strength (Fty) of AISI low-alloy steels (all products). Room temperature stress-strain curves for 4340 at 140 ksi, 180 ksi, and 200 ksi are included in Figure 2.3.1.3.6(a). Typical tensile stress-strain curves at room temperature for heat-treated AISI 4340 alloy steel (all products). The following link should allow you to download a 70 MB .pdf file of MIL-HDBK-5J:

Thanks TVP. I'll try using this graph in my negotiations with ABSA.
