Hi,

My client asked me to use Sandvik 2RE10 equivalent material for heat exchanger tubes. The exchanger is U stamped so the equivalent material must be the one that is present in ASME SEC. II part A. So, the equivalent material UNS number for Sandvik 2RE10 is UNS S31002. But this material is not enlisted in Codeware Compress materials.

Can anyone please tell me, what is the reason behind this? or how can I use S31002 material?

Thank you in advance.

Don't know about Codeware specifically, but most software lets you add / create custom materials. Searched the documentation?

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Wasil Ali,

Also check Table UHA-23 if this is a Section VIII, Div. 1 unit. I looked quickly and did not see it. If it is not listed in UHA-23 then you need to see if it can be used in accordance with UG-10. If it is in UHA-23 then you can create a custom material using the properties in Section II, Part D.

It may need to be dual certified.
After all S31002 also meets the S31008 and 31000 chemistries.
The 02 is just more restrictive.
Do the mechanicals meet S31008?
