I have drawing in master model concept, I 've places a text note is connected/related to a part attribute from the master part. I have to change the attribute of the master in the displayed part because of wrong content of the attribute.
Back in the drawing the attribute doesn't update.
what must I do? NX5.04

If you select an item (component) in the drawing assembly and edit an Attribute under properties, you're actually editing an 'Object' attribute of the Component itself, which were INHERITED from the 'Part' attribute in the master part file. If you want the original 'Part' attribute updated, you will need to go back to master part file and edit the 'Part' attribute from there.

Hi,

I hope this will be corrected in future version of ug!
Right now , we have to much more work than it´s necessary and it´s much more likly to mess up on the process.

just saying...

... I'm in master model and have edit the part attribute in the "displayed part" saved the displayed part. Back in the model (drafting) of the displayed part, one part above, the partattribute in the mapped in the note dosesn 't update.
Thank you for the advice with the object attribute, John.
The problem is that it doesn't update on the drawing - a dirty
solution ( I have found) is to move the note than it is updated/synchronisied with the changed part attribute.->
That hard to control on a drawing with 50 notes with attribute if they are all correct.

I think you will find the that note has actually updated in the drawing, just that it does NOT look like it has. However, if you save the part and reopen it it will be correct. Also, if you were to print, plot or output a CGM or PDF file of this drawing it would be seen as correct despite the fact that looking at the screen will still look wrong (until you save and reopen the file).

This is a known problem and it will be fixed in NX 7 as part of the general reimplementation of the entire attribute subsystem in NX.

What about Format - Database Attributes - Reload

I've had good luck using that when I change something in TC

That's fine, if you have TeamCenter and the attributes were modified there, but for those that do not, there is no practical or easy way to force an update.

We know what the problem is however the fix will be much easier and robust if it's done as part of the re-architecting of the complete Attribute subsystem which will include, among other things, a much needed rationalization of the differences between Part and Object attributes as well as making attributes in general more accessible and meaningful.
