Hello,

I am farely new to inventor, but I am in charge of setting up our Inventor enviroment. My question is: we are working witch profiles that have te same geometric shapes, but in each assembly different lengths. So if I am working without Content Center the parts automaticly update (each get the same length e.g.) Should I publish al of out profiles into the CC so that they get their own unique filename, or is there an other way to do this wisely ?? Please give me your thoughts about this..

Kind regards,

Arthur Wijker

I would avoid the content center at this point. Publishing and managing the content center is more confusing (to me anyway).

Much easier to use i-parts. Either with pre-set lengths or custom (user defined) lengths on placement. You can easily define where the child will get saved and the filename for BOM use in the idw.

Check out for good tutorials for each. There are also easy tutorials for linking part files to an excel spreadsheet if you might want to work with that option.
