Hi All

Could someone help me out with the Upper Transformation Temperature (AC3 Temperature) for ASTM A335: P5 material. This is a 5%Cr / 0.5% material.
This query is in relation to a welded joint which requires PWHT. The PWHT will affect the thickness approval ranges.

Many Thanks in advance

Steve

stevebro15;
By the way just for clarification, the lower critical transformation temperature that I listed above is what you really need for your PWHT evaluation. If you exceeded the lower critical transformation temperature, you have a serious problem with the weld joint and knowing the upper transformation temperature will do nothing unless you plan on re-austenitizing and tempering the entire component.
