I need some help. I am using ACAD '04, I have a drawing in which all the letters in the text I put in read left to right but the letters are upside-down. I am in the top view and this drawing has worked before, but now everything is pooched. If anyone can advise me how to get the text to come in correctly I would appreciate it.

Check settings of your current text style. Is "upside down" checked?

nope, I checked that one already. I'm at a loss. It is as though I am placing the text in the bottom view but I can't figure out how to switch it to the top.

I fixed it! I had to go to view/3d views/plan view and select world UCS. The person that drew this mess must have mucked it up somehow.

First tactic for dealing with odd behaviors like that; go to a perspective view to see what you've really got. After a while, you'll be able to draw in a perspective view.
