Hello,

Currently, my research project focuses on the use of Abaqus Software for thermal analysis/ buildings thermal performance, in the civil engineering field.

In spite of have already reached very good results using this software, I´m having some difficulties performing some important tasks:

Reaching a Heat Flux value of a model surface

In spite of the results of nodes heat flux are accurate, I was not able to find the average of these values. I just need one value, expressed in Watts, for the surface heat flux. Selecting thousands of nodes to use the average operator, or export them to Microsoft Excel is simply not efficient and extremely time consuming. Is there an easy way to obtain an average value on a selected surface of the model? (See attached file).

Finding the overall U-value or the R-Value

Related with the first issue, I still couldn´t find a way to automatically calculate building elements U-value or R-value. For these tasks I must manually compute the Heat Flux, Temperature Gradient and the surface area. Is there a simpler way to reach these values?

Thanks in advance,
Eduardo

Just display the face you are intered in and then create a field output result. There you find the sum of the values and you can devide it through the number of entities.

Thnak You very much,

I can see that sum now, in dat. file.

How can i increase de decimal numbers of dat. file values ? in this case this sum.

Thanks
