Urgent question - how do i transfer model from odb to cae?

yesterday i have somehow managed to export part of the odb model (only a small piece -- 3 elements for testing) into orphan mesh and into a new cae somehow, but i forgot how.
does anybody know how to do that? export part/asm doesn't work (it says that the asm does not contain any instances -- we are currently in visualization menu) and export part doesn't work also.

i think i managed to export it as inp somehow and then reimport it as orphan.

i can save odb as cae file, but it doesn't have anything - no parts...., just an empty file.
