Dear all, I hope you are doing great.
I have a query which I need your help. I want to reflect a new variable with values from excel/CSV file to ABAQUS visualisation contour module. I think we can do it either by copying the already existing odb file in the same path or creating a new empty odb file. So once i create this empty odb file. What is the use of it? How can I go ahead? Please any advice, suggestion or experience will be very valuable for me. Can anyone give me a small example as how can I use a new odb file(empty odb file) I have just created in the same folder as the existing odb.? Thank you alot in advance for your time and patience.

Hello,

You can use your existing .odb and add additional results.
Or you copy the .inp, run a datacheck and have the initial state of the .odb to add your data.

Creating a complete new .odb with Python does rarely makes sense. Then you would have to add nodes, elements, etc. yourself.
