Hello,

I've got a device that connects to a computer via a short 3m USB cable. I'd like to be able to this with a 100 feet distance.

The converters I've seen require a RJ type connector at the PC end, I need a db9.

ALso I'm on a $400 budget :) Hopefully that will be neough.

Thanks

Companies like BlackBox should also have such devices.

I don't understand your comment "The converters I've seen require a RJ type connector at the PC end, I need a db9." At the PC end you need a DB9? Won't it plug into the USB connector on your PC? Or are you saying that you have an existing 100ft cable that has a DB9 connector on it and you would like to use that to extend your USB?

Moreover, the typical cabling attached to either DB9 or RJ-11 connectors cannot support the datarates of USB.

Are you sure you have USB, and not RS-232? RS-232 is more typically associated with DB9 and RJ-11 connectors
