Hello All,

Does anyone know typically what efficiency can be seen in current pass through a USB 2.0 or 3.0 Type A PCB receptacle? Say for example you max out the potential for a USB 2.0 type A at the specified 2.5 Watts. What would be considered the thermal losses of the pass through the receptacle? Could it be negligible, or is it a significant factor? This is being used for a thermal analysis of an electronics enclosure.

Thank you,

JA

Should be negligible.

Only for the most critical applications would you even bother to double check this assumption by looking up the contact resistance.
