usb to RJ 45 cable 1

Hello All,

I need to run a USB port about 100 FT from my PC. Can I make up a cable to convert to RJ 45 and back to USB at my destination?? I see there are cables out there but I would like to learn more about this.If I can do this what is the max distance one can run??
