As per NACE MR -175-ISO 15156-2 clause A.2.1.3 ASTM A 105, and as per clause A 2.2 and Table 2 which provides examples of items that are permitted to be used without SSCC testing when the items are to be used in sour service.

A) Based on the table 2 can one infer that A 694 F 60 and A 694 F 65 does not need SSCC test
B) Based on the table 2 can one infer that A 860 does not need SSCC test
C) Is there any other clause in ISO 15156 that alows the use of A 694 F 60 or F 65 or ASTM A 860 without the need for HIC and SSCC test?
D) ASTM A 350 LF 2 is generally used in Sour service without HIC or SSCC test, which clause of ISO 15156 permits this?
E) If a manufacturer writes (in the material test record) ASTM A 694 F 60 NACE MR 0175-ISO 15156, does it mean that the manufacturer is required to have qualified the materiel by SSCC test sometime in the past or should the reporting of hardness be sufficient enough proof of compliance to NACE MR 0175-ISO15156?

A) Yes, provided that the stipulated compositional, heat treatment and hardness requirements are met, and the end user has not specified such testing.

B) See A) above

C) 7.1.2 for SSC, but no clause for HIC

D) See A for SSC; approach to HIC testing of forgings is down to the end user

E) No to SSC testing, and in addition, the manufacturer should not be certifying compliance as that is down to the end user.
