Is it acceptable to design and fabricate ASME VIII : DIV I : 2004 U-Stamp vessels from Super Duplex ASME SA240 UNS S32760. This material can be found in ASME II part A but not in ASME II part D. If so can the stresses for Super Duplex ASME SA240 UNS S32750 be utilised.

This is only a partial answer but may help you get started.

You should check if there is a Code Case (I don't have mine handy). If there is, that will provide the allowable stress values and other requirements/limitations.

Also, check with the material supplier. They generally have people on the various committees and they may be able to tell you if there is an approved code case (and give you the number so you can obtain a copy) or if there is one in the process and when it is expected to be approved. Obviously, if it has not been approved you cannot use the fact that one is in process to justify use of the material.

The answer to your question depends on the Jurisdiction where the object will be installed - so check with them first. Some Jurisdictions do NOT and will NOT accept Code cases!
