Hello everyone, quick question.

I am trying to make use of symmetry in a complex model. (400+ bodies)
I have yet to make use of symmetry and it would be really helpful for this analysis. I can only find examples where people make use of symmetry on a single body. My main confusion comes from trying to use symmetry on parts that don't intersect the plane of symmetry. I was hoping symmetry would just allow me to select a plane and be done with it. Can I use symmetry on a complex model like this?

Also, is there a way to display the geometry that it is mirroring? It would be nice to have it in the report and also so that I can double check what is being mirrored.

Thanks!

It's hard to give solid advice without a bit more detail about your model. But, based on the information you've given:
1. Consider whether the complexity of your model can be reduced -- 400+ bodies is a HUGE model. Consider using multibody parts and simplifying where possible.
2. Symmetry? Yes. Use wherever possible.
