I want to be able to use a symbol for my revision targets, a triangle containing the revision letter followed by an incremental indice (B1, B2, B3, B4...). I would like the letter to be linked to the revision of my drawing and then assign manually the indices each time I place one.

How can I set that up without going to VB or a Ufunc macro? User defined symbol with automatic attributes?
Thanks

Why not just use ID symbols? There is a Triangle symbol and it allows you to add characters inside the symbol.

If you're going to have to edit one of the characters, I really can't see the advantage of making just one automated when you're going to be changing the rest every time. You'll spend more time trying to select the single character than you will selecting all the characters and typing over them.

My 2 cents...

Exactly what I told the designers here (I am a checker), the thing is the BOM balloons has to be at 12.7 mm height but this is too small for the revision triangles (20 mm) so they would have to change the symbol height each time they place either a BOM or rev balloon... Also they often forget to re-edit the text when they copy symbols so I find a lot of errors this way. My point for asking then but I realize the effort to automate this might not be worth it.

Thanks Tim :-)
